freezer-friendly lunchbox recipes
kids actually eat

12 recipes to batch-cook once, freeze, and pack straight into the lunchbox on busy school mornings.

01

why a freezer stash saves school mornings

Weekday mornings are short, and packing something good from scratch every day is a lot to ask. A small freezer stash changes that: batch-cook once on the weekend, and a big part of the week’s lunchboxes is already done.

Every recipe here freezes well for up to a month. Move one to the fridge the night before, or pack smaller items straight from frozen (they’ll usually be thawed by lunchtime and keep everything else cool on the way).

02

how to freeze and pack them well

Cool everything completely before freezing, then freeze in a single layer before moving to a bag or container so pieces don’t stick together. Label with the date so the oldest batch gets used first.

Most of these recipes already bring protein, complex carbs and healthy fats. Add some fruit or veg and you’ve covered all four pillars of The Lunchbox Formula™: protein, complex carbs, healthy fats and colour.
